School director Otto Helmer is charged in 1926 of having committed "obscene acts" on at least five college-boys. The Institute of Sexology takes him several months for an "observation of his mental condition" and a "special medical treatment" 1 .
During his process Helmer is aquitted although he recognized the fact of having touched corporally his pupils. In its opinion the court is based on the report of experts Hirschfeld and Leppmann: they could not exclude the limitation of free will (article 51 of the Imperial Penal Code) of the accused.
